Product Description

The FX2N-232-BD is a serial communication expansion board engineered for Mitsubishi FX2N PLCs, providing RS‑232C interface capability for programming and data exchange. It supports half‑duplex bidirectional and full‑duplex operation with non‑protocol and computer link communications, offering selectable baud rates from 300 up to 19,200 bps, with 9,600 and 19,200 bps used for programming communications. The unit connects via a 9‑pin male D‑Sub and presents RXD/TXD status LEDs. Power is supplied internally from the PLC at 5 V DC, 20 mA. Designed for industrial environments, it operates from 0 to 55°C with 35–85% RH, features defined vibration and shock resistance profiles, and is specified for installation up to 2,000 m altitude. Note that the communication line is not isolated from the PLC main unit, and dielectric and insulation withstand tests should not be performed. Maximum transmission distance is 15 m under RS‑232C standards. This compact board occupies zero I/O points on the PLC, simplifying integration without affecting the system’s I/O capacity.
